Weekly Project Update – January 8, 2021
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On January 11, 2020, pothole repair work within project limits on the Northbound and Southbound Roadways will be performed. This work will require lane closures on the Northbound and Southbound Roadways.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
No work planned.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On December 15, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Southbound direction at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of January. This work will not require lane closures on Route 22 EB.
On December 23, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound direction at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of January. This work will not require lane closures on Route 22 EB.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
Installation of timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge will continue throughout the month of January. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On or about January 18, 2021, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structure 141.7 will begin. This work will not require lane closures on Route 82.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
On December 22, 2020, installation of timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge was completed.
On or about January 11, 2021, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structure 141.9 will begin. This work will not require lane closures on Route 22 WB.
