Weekly Project Update – November 6, 2020

The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:

Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143

On or about November 10, 2020, traffic on both the Northbound and Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 will be shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.

Portable VMS boards with advanced warning messages were deployed Northbound near MP 139.3 and Southbound near MP 143.0, on November 05, 2020.

The installation of the new traffic pattern will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures.

There will also be temporary half-ramp closures of the exit ramps at Northbound 139A, 139B and 140 and Southbound 141 in order to install the new traffic pattern, but the exit ramps will remain open at all times.

The contractor has repaired left shoulder median inlets, cleaned inlets and drainage lines within the median, repaired potholes, and tack welded inlet grates in preparation for the upcoming traffic shift.

The contractor is continuing to work on the construction of the temporary ramp from Route 82 to the Garden State Parkway Northbound that will be required for the upcoming traffic shift.
