Weekly Project Update – April 30, 2021
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On April 6, 2021, removal of existing timber shielding and installation of new timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge began and will continue throughout the month of May 2021. This work will require periodic single lane to three lane closures on either the Northbound or Southbound Garden State Parkway from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On May 10, 2021, installation of the jacks for structural jacking to replace bearings at the South abutment of Structure 141.3 will begin and will continue throughout the month of May 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
On May 10, 2021, substructure repairs at the South abutment of Structure 141.3 will begin and will continue throughout the month of May 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
On April 26, 2021, installation of steel bolsters and end diaphragms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout month of May 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
Installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.7 in the Northbound and Southbound directions was completed on April 23, 2021.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
On March 22, 2021, installation of the temporary supports and jacks for structural jacking at the South abutment of Structure 141.9 began and will continue until May 7, 2021. Upon completion of all work at the South abutment, the contractor will begin installation of the temporary supports and jacks for structural jacking at the North abutment of Structure 141.9 and will continue throughout the month of May 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On April 12, 2021, substructure repairs and bearing pad reconstruction at the South abutment of Structure 141.9 began and will continue until May 7, 2021. Upon completion of all work at the South abutment, the contractor will begin substructure repairs and bearing pad reconstruction at the North abutment of Structure 141.9 and will continue throughout the month of May 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
