Weekly Project Update – July 9, 2021
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On April 6, 2021, removal of existing timber shielding and installation of new timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge began and will continue throughout the month of July 2021. This work will require periodic single lane to three lane closures on either the Northbound or Southbound Garden State Parkway from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On May 10, 2021, substructure repairs at the South abutment of Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of July 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
On June 23, 2021, bearing replacement along North abutment of Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of July 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
On June 24, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 NB began and will continue until July 9, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On July 9, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 SB began and will continue until July 14, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about July 12, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 in the Northbound direction will begin. This work may require double right lane closures in Northbound direction from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This work will be completed in two work shifts.
On or about July 14, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 in the Southbound direction will begin. This work may require Entrance Ramp closure to GSP Southbound from Route 22 WB from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
On or about July 12, 2021, concrete placement for parapet on the bridge and wingwalls at Structure 141.7 NB/SB will begin and will continue until July 16, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On June 30, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the parapet on the bridge deck and wingwalls at Structure 141.7 NB/SB began and will continue until July 12, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On June 2, 2021, substructure repairs at the pier of Structure 141.7 began and will continue throughout the month of July 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82EB and Route 82WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On June 30, 2021, bearing replacement at Structure 141.7 began and will continue throughout the month of July 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On June 25, 2021, installation of conduit for bridge lighting at Structure 141.7 resumed and will continue until July 12, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
On July 8, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 SB began and will continue until July 15, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about July 9, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the parapet on the bridge deck and wingwalls at Structure 141.9 NB will begin and will continue until July 15, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about July 16, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 in the Southbound direction will begin. This work will be completed in a single shift and will require single right lane closures in the Southbound direction and an Entrance Ramp closure from Union Avenue to GSP Southbound from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
On or about July 19, 2021, concrete placement for parapet on the bridge and wingwalls at Structure 141.9 NB will begin and will continue until July 21, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
