Weekly Project Update – April 12, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work will resume on or about April 29, 2024, and will be completed by approximately May 8, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work will resume on or about April 29, 2024, and will be completed by approximately May 8, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP.
On or about May 3, sawcut grooving of bridge decks at Structures 141.3, 141.7, and 141.9 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately May 14, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On January 11, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On April 1, 2024, installation of steel reinforcement for bridge deck in Stage 3 began. This work was completed on April 11, 2024.
On or about April 16, 2024, concrete placement for the bridge deck in Stage 3 will begin.
On or about April 18, 2024, construction of parapet and sidewalk in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately April 26, 2024.
On or about April 19, 2024, installation of conduit for bridge lighting on the North parapet will begin. This work will be completed by approximately April 22, 2024.
On or about April 23, 2024, bridge approach work in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately May 2, 2024.
On or about April 24, 2024, installation of bridge fence on the North parapet will begin. This work will be completed by approximately May 2, 2024.
On or about April 29, 2024, removal of the timber shielding and other temporary supports under the bridge will begin. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately May 3, 2024.
On or about May 6, 2024, cleaning and painting of structural steel will begin. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately May 21, 2024.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
