Weekly Project Update – May 10, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work resumed May 1, 2024, and will be completed by approximately May 14, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP.
Micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB was completed on May 8, 2024.
On May 9, sawcut grooving of bridge decks at Structures 141.3, 141.7, and 141.9 began. This work will be completed by approximately May 14, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On January 11, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On April 29, 2024, removal of the timber shielding and other temporary supports under the bridge began. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately May 31, 2024.
On May 10, 2024, concrete placement for the sidewalk in Stage 3 will begin.
On or about May 13, 2024, construction of parapet in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately May 16, 2024.
On or about May 20, 2024, bridge approach work in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately May 22, 2024.
On or about May 20, 2024, installation of bridge fence on the North parapet will begin. This work will be completed by approximately May 22, 2024.
On or about May 24, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road will be shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 4). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On or about June 3, 2024, cleaning and painting of structural steel will begin. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately June 30, 2024.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
No work is scheduled at this location.
