Weekly Project Update – February 9, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work is temporarily paused due to cold weather and will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work is temporarily paused due to cold weather and will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On January 11, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On January 12, 2024, demolition of the existing bridge deck and parapet began. This work will be completed by approximately February 16, 2024.
On or about February 19, 2024, cleaning of top flanges and application of zinc primer in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately February 20, 2024.
On or about February 21, 2024, installation of end diaphragms and expansion joints in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately February 29, 2024.
On or about March 4, 2024, installation of stay in place forms and shear connectors in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately March 6, 2024.
On or about March 7, 2024, installation of steel reinforcement for bridge deck in Stage 3 will begin. This work will be completed by approximately March 13, 2024.
On or about March 14, 2024, concrete placement for the bridge deck in Stage 3 will begin.
