Weekly Project Update – December 11, 2020

The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:

Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143

On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced. 

On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced. 

On or about December 14, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structures 141.3, 141.7, and 141.9 will begin. Milling of asphalt pavement over Structures 141.3, 141.7 and 141.9 in the Northbound and Southbound directions has been completed.

Delivery of the construction materials into the work zones.  This work may require periodic single lane closures.

During NJTA Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled.

Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road

No work planned.

Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB

On or about December 14, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structure 141.3 will begin. This work will not require lane closures at Route 22 EB.

During NJDOT Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled on Route 22 EB.

Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)

Installation of timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge will continue. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

During NJDOT Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled on Route 82.

Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB

Installation of timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge will continue throughout the week of December 14, 2020. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22 WB from 8PM to 5AM.

Following the installation of timber shielding and other support structures, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structure 141.9 will begin. This work will not require lane closures at Route 22 WB.

During NJDOT Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled.
