Weekly Project Update – December 18, 2020
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On December 9, 2020, installation of precast concrete construction barrier around work zones along the Right Shoulder in the Southbound direction between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was completed.
On December 10, 2020, installation of precast concrete construction barrier around work zones along the Right Shoulder in the Northbound direction between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was completed.
On or about December 21, 2020, pothole repair work will begin. This work may require periodic single or double lane closures on the Northbound and Southbound roadways.
Delivery of the construction materials into the work zones. This work may require periodic single lane closures.
During NJTA Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
No work planned.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On December 15, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Southbound direction at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of January. This work will not require lane closures at Route 22 EB.
On or about December 22, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound direction at Structure 141.3 will begin. This work will not require lane closures at Route 22 EB.
During NJDOT Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled on Route 22 EB.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
Installation of timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge will continue. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
During NJDOT Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled on Route 82.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
Installation of timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge will continue throughout the week of December 21, 2020. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22 WB from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
On or about December 21, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structure 141.9 will begin. This work will not require lane closures at Route 22 WB.
During NJDOT Holiday Restrictions, no lane closings will be scheduled on Route 22 WB.
