Weekly Project Update – March 5, 2021
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On or about March 15, 2021, installation of anchor pins and parging joints on precast concrete construction barrier at Structures 141.3, 141.7 and 141.9 along the Southbound roadway will begin. This work will require periodic single or double lane closures on the Garden State Parkway.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
No work planned.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On December 15, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Southbound direction at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of March 2021. Periodic single lane closures on Route 22 EB from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM may be required during demolition of concrete diaphragms at the South Abutment.
On December 23, 2020, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound direction at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of March 2021. Periodic single lane closures on Route 22 EB from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM may be required during demolition of cap slab and concrete diaphragms at the South Abutment.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
On January 27, 2021, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Southbound direction at Structure 141.7 was complete on March 5, 2021. This work will not require lane closures on Route 82.
On March 1, 2021, demolition of the parapet and sawcutting of the wingwalls at the North and South abutments at Structure 141.7 began and will continue through March 12, 2021. This work will not require lane closures on Route 82.
On or about March 8, 2021, installation of the temporary supports for the bridge deck at Structure 141.7 will begin and will continue through March 12, 2021. This work will require periodic single lane closures on Route 82 EB and WB from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
On January 25, 2021, demolition of the parapet and bridge deck in the work zone in the Northbound and Southbound directions at Structure 141.9 began and will continue throughout the month of March. This work will not require lane closures on Route 22 WB.
On or about March 15, 2021, installation of the temporary supports for the bridge deck at Structure 141.9 will begin and will continue through March 19, 2021. This work will require periodic single lane closures on Route 22 WB.
