Weekly Project Update – June 18, 2021
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On April 6, 2021, removal of existing timber shielding and installation of new timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work will require periodic single lane to three lane closures on either the Northbound or Southbound Garden State Parkway from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On May 10, 2021, substructure repairs at the South abutment of Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On May 26, 2021, installation of expansion joint in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout month of June 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
Installation of the stay in place forms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 NB was completed on June 17, 2021.
On or about June 21, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 NB will begin and will continue until June 25, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about June 21, 2021, installation of the stay in place forms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 SB will begin and will continue until June 23, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about June 24, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 SB will begin and will continue until June 30, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
Concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.7 in the Southbound direction was completed on June 18, 2021.
On or about June 24, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.7 in the Northbound direction will begin. This work will be completed in a single shift and will require two right lane closures in the Northbound direction and possible Entrance Ramp closure to GSP Northbound from Route 22 EB (pending approval) from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. A detour will be provided during Entrance Ramp closure.
On June 2, 2021, substructure repairs at the pier of Structure 141.7 began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82EB and Route 82WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
Installation of the temporary supports and jacks for structural jacking for Stage 1 at the South abutment of Structure 141.9 was completed on May 13, 2021. Upon completion of all work at the South abutment, the contractor began installation of the temporary supports and jacks for structural jacking for Stage 1 at the North abutment of Structure 141.9 and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Substructure repairs and bearing pad reconstruction for Stage 1 at the South abutment of Structure 141.9 was completed on May 13, 2021. Upon completion of all work at the South abutment, the contractor began substructure repairs and bearing pad reconstruction for Stage 1 at the North abutment of Structure 141.9 and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On or about June 23, 2021, installation of the stay in place forms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 SB will begin and will continue until June 30, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On June 14, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 NB began and will continue until June 22, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about June 30, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 SB will begin and will continue until July 8, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
