Weekly Project Update – June 25, 2021
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On November 14, 2020, traffic on the Northbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140.9 and 142.1 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On November 21, 2020, traffic on the Southbound Garden State Parkway between mileposts 141.0 and 142.2 was shifted to the left in a new traffic pattern. All existing travel lanes remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On April 6, 2021, removal of existing timber shielding and installation of new timber shielding and other temporary support structures under the bridge began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work will require periodic single lane to three lane closures on either the Northbound or Southbound Garden State Parkway from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
On May 10, 2021, substructure repairs at the South abutment of Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On May 26, 2021, installation of expansion joint in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout month of June 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
Installation of the stay in place forms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 NB was completed on June 17, 2021.
On June 23, 2021, bearing replacement along North abutment of Structure 141.3 began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 22EB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
On June 24, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 NB began and will continue until July 2, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about June 28, 2021, installation of the stay in place forms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 SB will begin and will continue until June 30, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about July 6, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 SB will begin and will continue until July 13, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about July 19, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.3 in the Northbound and Southbound directions will begin. This work may require single right lane closures in Northbound direction and Southbound direction from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
Concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.7 in the Southbound direction was completed on June 18, 2021.
Concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.7 in the Northbound direction was completed on June 24, 2021.
On June 2, 2021, substructure repairs at the pier of Structure 141.7 began and will continue throughout the month of June 2021. This work may require periodic single lane closures on Route 82EB and Route 82WB from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
Installation of the temporary supports and jacks for structural jacking for Stage 1 at the South abutment of Structure 141.9 was completed on May 13, 2021.
Installation of the temporary supports and jacks for structural jacking for Stage 1 at the North abutment of Structure 141.9 was completed on June 22, 2021.
Substructure repairs and bearing pad reconstruction for Stage 1 at the South abutment of Structure 141.9 was completed on May 13, 2021.
Substructure repairs and bearing pad reconstruction for Stage 1 at the North abutment of Structure 141.9 was completed on June 21, 2021.
Installation of the stay in place forms in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 SB was completed on June 23, 2021.
Installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 NB was completed on June 22, 2021.
On or about June 28, 2021, installation of steel reinforcement for the bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 SB will begin and will continue until July 2, 2021. This work will not require lane closures.
On or about June 30, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 in the Northbound direction will begin. This work will be completed in a single shift and will require Entrance Ramp closure to GSP Northbound from Route 82 from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. A detour will be provided during Entrance Ramp closure.
On or about July 8, 2021, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 1 at Structure 141.9 in the Southbound direction will begin. This work will be completed in a single shift and will require single right lane closures in the Southbound direction from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
