Weekly Project Update – June 14, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
Micro-milling and sawcut grooving of bridge decks will be completed by approximately June 14, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP.
Deck joint installation at Structures 141.0 and 141.2 has been completed.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On January 11, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On June 14, 2024, removal of the overhang brackets on the north fascia at Structure 140.2 will begin. The temporary pedestrian walkway and overhang bracket on the south fascia of Structure 140.2 will begin on approximately June 19, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately June 29, 2024.
On or about June 15, 2024, installation of bridge fence on the North parapet will be complete.
On or about June 20, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road will be shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 4). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.
On or about June 29, 2024, cleaning and painting of structural steel will begin. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately July 28, 2024.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
Spall repairs will commence under Structure 141.3 on June 14, 2024, and be completed by approximately June 18, 2024. This will require nightly lane closings on Rt 22 EB.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
No work is scheduled at this location.
