Weekly Project Update – June 21, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
Micro-milling and sawcut grooving of bridge decks will be completed by approximately June 28, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP.
Deck gland installation at 141.3, 141.7 and 141.9 is underway and will continue into mid-July.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On June 1, 2024, removal of the overhang brackets on the north fascia at Structure 140.2 commenced and will continue through June 25. The temporary pedestrian walkway and overhang bracket on the south fascia of Structure 140.2 will begin on approximately June 26, 2024. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately July 12, 2024.
On June 19, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road will be shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 4). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.
On or about June 20, 2024, cleaning and painting of structural steel will begin. This work will require temporary lane closures during the night shift along the GSP NB/SB. This work will be completed by approximately July 28, 2024.
On June 25, 2024, the installation of the bridge fence on the south fascia of GHR will begin and be completed by July 8, 2024. Installation of bridge fence on the north parapet of GHR is complete.
Bridge No. 141.3, GSP over Route 22 EB
Spall repairs will commence under Structure 141.3 on June 14, 2024, and be completed by approximately July 8, 2024. This will require nightly lane closings on Rt 22 EB.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
No work is scheduled at this location.
