Weekly Project Update – December 8, 2023
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 10, 2023, paving of the mainline roadway on the Northbound Roadway of the Garden State Parkway began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately December 15, 2023.
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately December 15, 2023.
On November 8, 2023, paving of the mainline roadway on the Southbound Garden State Parkway began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately December 15, 2023.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately December 15, 2023.
On or about November 27, 2023, installation of 1P expansion joints at Structures 141.0 and 141.2 will begin. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately December 15, 2023.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On November 14, 2023, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 2). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.
Demolition of the existing bridge deck in Stage 2 was completed on December 4, 2023.
Cleaning and painting top flanges of stringers in Stage 2 was completed on December 4, 2023.
On December 6, 2023, installation of end diaphragm and expansion joints in Stage 2 began and will be completed by approximately December 13, 2023.
On or about December 14, 2023, installation of stay in place forms and shear connectors for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.
On or about December 18, 2023, installation of steel reinforcement for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.
On or about December 21, 2023, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.

No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
