Weekly Project Update – December 15, 2023
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
Paving of the mainline roadway on the Northbound Roadway of the Garden State was completed on December 15, 2023.
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately January 12, 2024.
Paving of the mainline roadway on the Southbound Garden State Parkway was completed on December 8, 2023.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately January 12, 2024.
Installation of 1P expansion joints at Structures 141.0 and 141.2 is postponed until Spring 2024.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On November 14, 2023, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 2). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.
Installation of end diaphragm and expansion joints in Stage 2 was completed on December 15, 2023.
On or about December 18, 2023, installation of stay in place forms and shear connectors for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.
On or about December 20, 2023, installation of steel reinforcement for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.
On or about December 27, 2023, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.
On or about January 8, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road will be shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.

No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.7, GSP over Morris Avenue (Route 82)
No work is scheduled at this location.
Bridge No. 141.9, GSP over Route 22 WB
