Weekly Project Update – December 22, 2023
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately January 12, 2024.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work will be performed under temporary nightly lane closures and will be completed by approximately January 12, 2024.
Installation of 1P expansion joints at Structures 141.0 and 141.2 is postponed until Spring 2024.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On November 14, 2023, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 2). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
Installation of stay in place forms and shear connectors for bridge deck in Stage 2 was completed on December 20, 2023.
On December 21, 2023, installation of steel reinforcement for bridge deck in Stage 2 began and will be completed by approximately December 26, 2023.
On or about December 27, 2023, concrete placement for bridge deck in Stage 2 will begin.
On or about January 8, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road will be shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.
