Weekly Project Update – January 5, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work is temporarily paused due to cold weather and will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work is temporarily paused due to cold weather and will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
Construction of rumble strips within project limits along GSP NB was completed on January 3, 2024.
Installation of permanent traffic striping within project limits along GSP NB/SB was completed on January 5, 2024.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On November 14, 2023, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 2). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
Pavement of East and West approaches to the newly constructed bridge deck in Stage 2 was completed on January 5, 2024.
On or about January 8, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road will be shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths will be reduced.
On or about January 9, 2024, demolition of the existing bridge deck and parapet will begin. This work will be completed by approximately January 19, 2024.
