Weekly Project Update – January 12, 2024
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:
Garden State Parkway Mileposts 140 to 143
On October 19, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 NB, 141.7 NB, and 141.9 NB began. This work is temporarily paused due to cold weather and will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
On November 13, 2023, micro-milling on bridge decks at Structures 141.3 SB, 141.7 SB, and 141.9 SB began. This work is temporarily paused due to cold weather and will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
Construction of rumble strips within project limits along GSP SB was completed on January 12, 2024.
Bridge No. 140.2, GSP under Galloping Hill Road
On January 11, 2024, traffic on Galloping Hill Road was shifted to a new traffic pattern (Stage 3). All existing travel lanes will remain open, but lane widths have been reduced.
On January 12, 2024, demolition of the existing bridge deck and parapet will begin. This work will be completed by approximately January 23, 2024.
