NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN: FEBRUARY 2021
A new Construction pattern will be implemented on the Garden State Parkway Southbound between mileposts 140 and 143 starting on February 9, 2022, at 9:00 PM, and lasting until April 2022. Over this period, the following construction and changes in traffic patterns will occur:
Southbound traffic lanes will be split with 2 lanes shifted to the left and 2 lanes shifted to the right beginning at Vauxhall Rd (Exit 141).
The lanes will be of reduced width
It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate during peak travel periods until motorist become accustomed and adjust to the new traffic pattern.
Variable message signs to alert motorists of the construction will be placed along the Southbound Roadway one week in advance of the planned construction start date.

Description of New Traffic Pattern: Construction will occur on the Garden State Parkway between mileposts 140 and 143 starting on February 9, 2022, lasting until April 2022. Over this period, the following construction and changes in traffic patterns will occur:
All Southbound traffic lanes will be split shifted left and right beginning at Vauxhall Rd.
The number of lanes will be reduced from 5 to 4, and will be of reduced width
Proposed Start Date of New Traffic Pattern: The new traffic pattern will begin on February 9, 2022, lasting until April 2022.
Anticipated Traffic Impacts: It is anticipated that traffic impacts will be moderate during peak travel periods until motorist become accustomed and adjust to the new traffic pattern.
Other Comments: NJTA will advise motorists by Overhead Variable Message Signs approaching the construction area. Coordination with Union County and NJDOT is ongoing.
